Printable
version

Shell Services International; have worked to develop a revolutionary new simulation tool, ADGENT 2000. ADGENT 2000 is a flexible and powerful tool which models producer and receiving terminals, shipping logistics and shipping delivery programmes for both liquefied natural gas and crude oil. The tool is now available and is the most advanced tool of its kind inside or outside of Shell.

The potential benefits are impressive

For the past ten years a predecessor to this tool (culled ADGENT) has been used within Shell International Gas and associated operating companies. The studies have shown impressive savings and significant increases in revenues. In the last year alone its use benefited existing and new projects in the region of $100 million!

ADGENT 2000 uses the most up to date simulation technology, providing a user-friendly graphical user interface and draq-and-drop functionality. It has the same look and feel as a standard Windows environment. A basic model con be set up and running with just a few mouse clicks.

What are the benefits of simulation-based tools?

Simulation gives organisations the much needed ability to ask "what-if?" when making strategic and operational decisions, it also gives the user a safe environment in which to experiment with different strategic scenarios. As a result, decision-makers can be sure that they have found the solution that is most fit for their organisation. Benefits are numerous including improved throughput, reduced lead-times and better utilisation of resources.
